Work Look: Covergirl Eye Enhancers 3 Kit "Golden Sunset" Palette

If you feel like you don't have time for your eyes in the morning don't feel bad. I fee the same way.

Here is a quick an easy eye look to achieve with a drug store brand product while sitting at your desk at work or anywhere else for that matter.

This Covergirl Eye Enhancers 3-Kit Shadows in Golden Sunset lives in my desk as work.  I purchased this from the CVS for like $4.99 (don't really remember). I use this when I randomly want to put eye shadow on since I usually don't have time to do it in the morning when trying to hurry out of the house.

In the picture below I used the yellow shade all over my lid up to the brow bone and then the middle golden shade just on the lid. This is so easy and fast, if you want to spice up your look in a hurry at your desk. EASY!!!!

When choosing two colors for work I try to stick with two neutral colors so that it doesn't look too over done for the work place.
Let me know if you do the same thing or if this post has helped you in anyway.

Kat Von D "The Kat Eye Set" Review

Happy Weekend Beauties!

When I was on my honeymoon last week, we stopped by the Galleria Mall in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and I was happy to find a Sephora there.  At checkout I purchased a Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick along with The Kay Eye Set ($15.00).  Since they come in the mini set, of course they are a lot smaller than the regular sized liner and mascara.

It love at first sight with this set. I could tell by the picture that the liner tip and I would get along well.

I recently purchased the NYX Curve Liner in Jet Black ($14.99) and I do love it, however when compared to the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, it is more pigmented and glides on a lot smoother, which makes it easier to draw your "Kat" eye.

Here are close up pics with both the Tattoo Liner along with the Immortal Lash Mascara.

The mascara is awesome as well. The wand lengthens and separates the lashes very naturally without clumping up.  I love it. Once these run out I will more than likely go out and purchase the regular sizes.  The regular size Liner costs $19.00 and the regular sized Immortal Lash mascara is $20.00. Those costs are little steep but I think it is worth it, if the set gets discontinued.

Let me know what you think and if you plan on purchasing the "Kat Eye Set" in the near future. It is a great buy.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Ancient Blends Review

Greetings Beauties,

The beautiful Yendys, founder of the www.corieshellcenter.com was kind enough to send me some of her Ancient Blends natural hair care products. She sells these products on her etsy shop (https://www.etsy.com/shop/AncientBlends).

Let me first explain to you all that all of her products smell amazing. When I opened the box I was overwhelmed with the scent of lemon, lavender, and jazmine (just to name a few).

The first product I tried was the Lemon Mint Shampoo.

It smells great (smells just like lemon and mint just like it states in its title). It is not the traditional consistency of other shampoos. It is a liquid, which made me use more than what I really needed. Therefore, it is safe to on say that a little goes a long way. I loved the way it made my scalp tingle.

Next, I triedd the Sacred Hair & Scalp Oil.

I used this oil as a hot oil treatment, by first warming a mug of water in the microwave (for three min) and then placing the oil inside the mug of water to let it get warm. I then used the bottles tip applicator to saturate my scalp and hair with the warm oil. The shampoo also has a tip appplicator so that you can apply the product directly to your scalp. Nice touch.

After applying the oil I seperated my hair into four sections and twisted them up and placed a plastic bag over my hair, along with my bonnet and scarf. I then went to sleep because I was tired.

When I woke up the next morning, I tried the Herbal Hair Rinse.

With this step I just brewed the tea (inside the refillable bag it comes with) and let it cool. I then poured it over my hair repeatedly for about 5 min. This tea rinse is supposed to be treated as a leave in so I did not rinse it out. I really loved how this rinse made my hair smell.

(You see: I used way too on much shampoo. A little goes a long way)

Last step: I used the Plant Based Hair Gel.

This gel is awesome. It smells amazing. I just seperated my hair into small sections, detangled, applied the gel, and rolled my hair up using perm rods.

I let this air dry for about 8 hours, remove the rods and here are the results:

Overall: I love all the products. The gel did not leave any flakes. The gel actually has a great moisturizing effect to it. Im in love.

Yendys (pronounced Yendez) also sent me tea to drink that is supposed to help your hair grow. I think I may do a separate post to review this, with some before and after shots.

Great products. Love, Love, Love. I would highly recommend.  I particularly love ancient blends because I can tell that all the ingredients are all natural. I know that some people like to create their own natural hair care products in their own kitchens,  but with three small children and a full time job, I dont have time. Therefore, I will more than likely purchase these items once these run out and after reviewing her etsy shop (https://www.etsy.com/shop/AncientBlends) I want to purchase the soap she sells.

Note: I am currently traveling and am using the blogger app, therefore I plan to incorporate better links for this post at a later date.

Liebster Award

I am so happy to have been nominated for the Liebster Award about three times. Thank you so much for nominating me Sarah (http://sarahanne14.blogspot.com/) and Althea (http://thepowerofthepretty.blogspot.com), and unfortunately I can't remember the third person :)

This award helps new bloggers with under 200 followers to get noticed and also get to know each other.

The Rules are as follows:

- Thank the blogger who nominated you, including their blog link

- Answer the 11 questions the blogger gave you

- Nominate 11 new bloggers who have less than 200 followers & include their links

- Notify the bloggers that you have selected

- Create 11 new questions for them to answer

Athea's Questions:

1. Why did you start your blog?

I started my blog because I have so much of a passion for beauty products. It is such an interesting subject to me and I love discussing it with other beauty lovers. I also just recently finished my masters and have a little extra time on my hands.

2. What is your full time job?

I am a Contract Specialist for the government

3. Do you have any pets?

No.

4. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Being a wife and a mom and a beauty blogger. I also love reading other blogs and watching Youtube videos.

5. What is your favorite store to shop at?

Ann Taylor and the Loft.

6. What can you NOT live without?

My family

7. What music do you enjoy?

Gospel, Neo-Soul, and Go-Go Music

8. What are your goals for this year?

To improve my blog and to become a better wife and mom. I mean of course I know I'm already awesome, but there is always room for improvement.

9. Who is your favorite blogger?

Jean from Extra Petite (http://www.extrapetite.com/). She is my fashion crush and she is also the reason why I fell in love with Ann Taylor clothes.

10. What is your dream career?

I already have my dream career as a Contract Specialist. I also would love my blog to become a success. I can have it all, right?

11. Are you an online shopper or in-store kind of gal?

I'm more of an in-store kind of gal, so that I can sneak things in so that my husband doesn't notice, lol.

Sarah's questions:

1. Why did you start blogging?

Answered this above.

2. What is the last song you listened to?

A Jazmine Sullivan song because I went to her concert last night which was completely AWESOME!!!

3. What is your favorite animal?

Dog

4. What is your favorite makeup brand?

I honestly can't pick just one.

5. What is your favorite store?

Ann Taylor and the Loft because they sell really great petite sizes.

6. Do you have any pets?

No.

7. What is the meaning behind your blog name?

The meaning behind Beauty Show Off spurs from me wanting to encourage women and men to show off their beauty by trying different beauty products I recommend or rave about. The meaning also comes from me loving to show off different beauty products that have worked well for me. I don't really like to talk bad or be negative about a specific brand so therefore, you will not see much of that on this blog :)

8. Do you have any talents?

I used to be a college cheerleader, so I can tumble. Haven't done much of that in a while so the most I can probably do is a back handspring at the moment. I would have to train and work up to the more advance tumbling. However, I'm going to leave that to my twin girls (Ruby and Zoey) because they are in gymnastics now, so I'll let them go ahead and have that. I'm too old :)

9. What is your zodiac sign?

Leo

10. What are some of your future goals?

To become a better blogger and to become more organized in order to improve my families life. (I know this is different than from above, but this is just an extension to it).

11. What are 3 things that make you happy?

God, my family and friends, and blogging :) (that's 4. I know).

I nominate:

http://houseofsummersville.blogspot.com/

http://diaryofalifestyle.blogspot.com/

http://etherealempire.blogspot.com/

http://www.taintedblues.co.uk/

These are bloggers that have less than 200 Followers on Bloglovin, if you have more than 200 followers on any other social media platform, let me know.

My questions are:

1. Why did you start blogging?

2. Who is your favorite blogger?

3. What is your favorite color?

4. What is your favorite make-up product that you can't live without?

5. Where are you from?

7. What do you do for a living?

8. Where do you love to shop?

9. Do you have any fun plans for the spring/summer?

10. What makes you happy?

11. What is your favorite beauty brand?

Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette

Funny story - When I went to Ulta yesterday, I was looking for the new Too Faced Natural Matte Eyes Palette (which is exclusively sold +ultabeauty):

and I thought that this was it
But I really purchased this. icon

Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette, $36.00

From Left to Right: Heaven, Silk Teddy, Nude, Cashmere Bunny, Sexspresso, Push-up, Erotica, Honey Pot, and Chocolate Martini

When I went to the Starbucks shortly after, I looked it up online in order to see if the shades matched the Matte palette and of course they didn't. The three top shades (Heaven, Cashmere Bunny, and Sexspresso) are all the same but the remainder of the shades within the Natural Eyes Palette are shimmer shades.  I was about to return it because I wanted something brand new to review, but then changed my mind because I rather have a palette with shimmer and matte shades mixed.  So below are eye tutorial pics that come with the palette and I chose to do the Day look (where I applied Heaven on the lid and blended all the way up toward the brow bone, I then applied Cashmere Bunny to the crease and then Sexspresso to the lid and lower lash line. I also used the Push-Up on the lid and Silk Teddy in the inner corner of the eye):

Here is how it turned out:

Foundation: Estee Lauder Double Wear in Sandalwood
Under Eye Concealer: MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC42
Eye Primer: Urban Decay Eye Primer
Eyes: Too Faced Natural Eye Palette (of course)
Liner: NYX Black Ergonomics Liner in Black
Lashes: Kiss iEnvy Natural Lashes
Mascara: L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black
Blush: Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush in Poppy Pashion
Highlighter: Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips in Riviera Strip
Contour: NYX Color Corrector, Contour, and Highlight Palette in Dark
Lip: Dark Brow Lip Liner paired with Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Coral

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Which palette would you prefer the Matte or the Matte and Shimmer mixed?

Estee Lauder Blush: No Makeup - Makeup

Good Afternoon Beauties!
Since I didn't have much time today for makeup play, I decided to do a no makeup - makeup look featuring +Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush in Poppy Passion. This blush had me at hello when the sales associated tried it on on top of the +Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation at +Macy's. I fell in love. Isn't the packaging just gorgeous?

Since I didn't have much time this morning I just applied this blush on top of my foundation and received a great look. I also added some +e.l.f. Cosmetics pink lip gloss.

I probably should have added more under eye concealer but did not have time :(

Let me know what you use when you are trying to create a more natural looks in the comments section below.
