Greetings Show Off's,

Happy Tuesday! I would like to wear something like this on the 4th of July this year. Do you usually try to stay in the color theme of the american flag with regards to what you wear on July 4th? I do. I try :) Not always successful. I at least will paint my nails red and wear a red lip.

What do you normally wear on the July 4th?

New Black Liner: BH Cosmetics

Greeting Show Off's

Today I want to talk about this BH Liquid EyeLiner-Black. If you have been following me, you may  notice how I like to review eye liner's a lot. I really like this one because the applicator is really sturdy where it doesn't move.  I think that this is really helpful with making the winged liner really precise. I also like the matte finish this liner provides.  This pen shape is also really easy to handle. I would rate this as a 10/10 due to the quality very affordable price. This liner retails for $6.00.
Here is how it appears as a winged liner (It was really easy)

Along with the liner I also used the Wild Child Baked Eyeshadow Paletteon my eyes today.

Let me know what you think? Would you purchase this liner? I love it.

Missy Lynn Palette

Greetings Show Off’s!

Today I am excited to show you how I used the Missy Lynn palette for a quick work look.  First let’s take a look at this palette. If you don’t know who Missy Lynn is go and visit her youtube channel here, and subscribe. She is an amazing MUA and has made her own palette with BH Cosmetics.

The back of this palette states: Famed beauty guru and active duty military member, Missy Lynn, also known to her fans as Start2FinishMUA, hand-picked these glamourous shades to create this limited edition eyeshadow and highlighter palette. It’s the perfect on-the-go palette for anyone looking to glam up their look from day-to-night. This collection features six eyeshadows and two highlighting powders ranging from warm browns to rose golds to complement every skin tone.

Here are some swatches:

Can you see how one of the highlighter shades is pinker than the other?
And here is the quick look I did for work:

I used the light pink, shimmer brown, dark brown, reddish brown and purple shadows.  I will leave the darker purple for a night time look.  I also used the warm brown highlighter on the highest parts of my cheek bones and the bridge of my nose. At first, I thought that these highlighters were the exact same, until I swatched them on my fingers. One is more of a brownish gold where the other has more of a pink tint to it. Nice Touch!!! I also loved how the eyeshadows pan's seem a lot bigger in circumference in person.

I used the browner highlight on my cheeks
That is all. Let me know what you think and if you plan to purchase this palette. I love it.

Translucent Powder

Greetings Show Off's!!!

After a bad experience with setting my under eye area with a Nyx setting powder for deep skin tones (which was yellow), I decided to try a translucent powder, which I have really grown to love. I use them for setting my under eye area after applying concealer. Translucent powders are great because their finish is sheer and it makes it appear as if you don’t have on too much makeup, which is what I feel like happens when I wear a yellow powder to set my under eye area.

Today we will be comparing low and higher end translucent powders. One is from elf and the other from MAC.

So, when comparing the e.l.f. Studio High Definition Powder and the MAC Prep +Prime Transparent Finishing Powder the first thing that comes to mind is the huge price difference. The price difference is $20.00, where the elf costs $6.00 and the MAC will run you $26.00.

The other differences are the ingredients contained in each:

Elf: Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Silica, Sodium Dehydroacetate.

MAC: Zea Mays Starch, SilicaMica, Zinc Stearate, Caprylyl Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol

The common ingredient shared between the two are Silica, which is a chemical compound that is an oxide of silicon with the chemical formula SiO2. It is basically a powder.

The major difference in the ingredients between the two are that MAC’s powder contains an actual skin conditioner and emollient in the form of Caprylyl Glycol. MAC’s powder also contains Mica, which is a shimmer component to the formula. However elf’s shimmer version of this powder does have Mica in it. Elf’s powder does contain a preservative it in (Sodium Dehydroacetate). This preservative is used in cosmetics products because of its antimicrobial properties. Elf’s powder also contains Dimethicone which can also be used for medical purposes for the skin because it protects the skin against irritation and wetness. My guess is that this ingredient keeps the skin from getting oily.

A sigh of relief came over me when I noticed that none of the ingredients of these products used Talc which is merely baby powder. I would definitely feel sick to my stomach if I paid $26.00 or even $6.00 for baby powder.

None of the ingredients appear to be harmful except for maybe the preservative within elf’s formula, however, I did not find any bad reviews on this ingredient.

All in all both provide the same results. Therefore, both work well. However, I think I will go with the elf next time (when these run out) because it comes with a pretty puff for application. The MAC does not.

That is all. Let me know if you have any questions.

Highlighting and Contouring with Tyra Beauty

Greetings Show Off's,

Not sure if everyone know's this but Tyra Banks has a new Cosmetics line (I didn't know at first). I think it is sold over the Home Shopping Network and also through individual Beautytainers.
Special Thanks to Molly Jane Bertram from Tyra Beauty for sending me these highlighting and sculpting sticks.

These sticks are called "Light in a Stick" - Highlighter in SINsational City and "Sculpt in a Stick" - Face Contour in Deep. Both sticks retail at $25.00.

I must say that I just love this packaging. Too Cute, right?

I also really like Tyra's logo.
Initially I did not think that the contour stick would be dark enough, however it was. It worked out along side the highlight shade I used.
To highlight I used the stared shade in the NYX  Conceal, Correct, and Contour palette.

I really enjoyed the creaminess of these sticks. The formula makes it very easy to blend out the contour and highlighter with a damp beauty blender. After blending the contour and highlight, I added the Tyra Highlighter stick to the upper portion of my cheeks, bridge of my nose, and cupids bow.
No Flash
I really like the results. The formula seems so lightweight, that it feels like I didn't put anything else on besides the foundation I started with.

Let me know what you think. Would you purchase these sticks? I definitely would.  They are so easy to use.  Just visit Molly Jane Bertrum's sight here. I also, want to try some other items from Tyra's line like the blush sticks, eyebrow pen, lipsticks, and everything else, lol.
