Maybelline Lip Gloss Palette

Happy Tuesday!!!

I recently picked up this Maybelline Lip Gloss Palette from Rite Aide because it looks really pretty, right? The link I have is from Ulta, because it is only $11.99 there, and I think I purchased this for $12.99 from the Rite Aid, and I couldn't find this on their website.
The back of this palette states: "Eight irresistible gloss shades ranging from nude to wine"

I purchased this palette in order to test the pigment and the level of moisture that these glosses provide. I was really happy to see that it came with a lip brush, because you can't see the brush when it is closed.  There is no mirror. Maybelline needs to improve on that with all of their palettes (in my opinion).

Foundation Review: Maybelline Fit Me - Dewy + Smooth vs. Matte + Poreless

Hey There!!!

Happy Wednesday!

Today I wanted to test and show you all the difference between the two formula's of the Maybelline Fit me line of Foundation.  I am in the shade Coconut (355).  I believe that this is Maybelline's darkest shade within the Matte + Poreless line, which isn't that dark in my opinion.  The darkest shade in the Dewy + Smooth line is Mocha (360) which is a one shade darker than Coconut.

Wedding Makeup

Greetings Show Off's,

Today I would like to share with you all the makeup products I used on myself for my wedding day. Yes, I did my own makeup (trying to save money) :) So, here is what I used:
Wedding Makeup

Beauty product
nyxcosmetics.com

Mac cosmetics makeup
maccosmetics.com

Mac cosmetics makeup
maccosmetics.com

Mac cosmetic
maccosmetics.com

Mineral face powder
nyxcosmetics.com

MAC Cosmetics long false eyelash
$16 - selfridges.com

MAC Cosmetics matte foundation
$33 - selfridges.com

MAC Cosmetics black face makeup
$26 - selfridges.com

Pink lips makeup
nyxcosmetics.com
I am happy that my makeup was the first thing I did before anything else the morning of my wedding, so that my makeup could set and all I had to do was minor touch ups right before the ceremony.
One of the things I struggled to keep up with was my lip stick, which was MAC's Viva Glam II lipstick.  I left it in the dressing room before I left to go walk down the aisle.
I should have taken my lipstick with me down the aisle (since I did not have a make up artist to tend to my beckoned call). I should have held the lipstick in the same hand as my bouquet, where I could have hid it. Or I should have hid it in an unmentionable place :)
My other mistakes: I did received some photos back where the camera gave me a lot of white under eye circles where I believe this is called make up flash back. I believe the NYX Mineral Face Powder along with the MAC Pro Longwear concealer did this.
I didn't get many close up's that I would care to share, however, I think that a lot of my looks in these pics came out really natural and not as dramatic as I thought :)
I received a lot of compliments and people asked me who did my makeup, where I would humbly reply "I did" :)

My husband and I have been married for almost 7 months now and have been having a great time thus far. I pray we have many more months/years.

Special Thanks to Corey from Raw Aperture Photography (https://www.facebook.com/RawAperturePhotography?pnref=lhc) for taking such beautiful photos. All photo credit goes to him.
Let me know if you have any questions as it pertains to my wedding makeup!

Hopefully, the mistakes I mentioned will help you at your future weddings or special occasions where you will be taking a lot of pictures.

My Current Favorite Lipsticks

Hello Beautiful People,

Today I will be sharing my five favorite shades that I keep in my purse on the regular.  I keep these specific shades on hand while I am out, just in case I want to switch my look up from natural to  a little more dramatic.

I really love this color because it has an orange undertone that I like to pair with an orange blush that I have. I think this is a great colder weather shade.

I love this lipstick color. The last time I wore it was to the Redskins game. It was the perfect shade for my Redskins gear. Love this color because it is a deeper red, however it is still subtle.

(3) Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick in Ritual, $5.99 from TJ Maxx, $30.00 from Amazon

I was so excited when I found this shade at TJ Maxx for $5.99, when I know that Kat Von D is one of the more higher end brands that you can find at Sephora. I didn't try it on in the store, so I was a little nervous at the same time. When I got home and tried it I was so happy.  What a great find!! I would highly recommend looking through the cosmetics at TJ Maxx and Marshalls because you never know what you may find.

(4) MAC Pro Longwear Lipstick in Made to Last , $12.00 from the Cosmetic Company at the Tanger Outlets, $49.52 from Amazon

I found this color at the Cosmetic Company that is located at the National Harbor Tanger Outlets.  This store sells higher end brands such as Bobbi Brown, MAC, and Estee Lauder at a discounted price.  Whenever I put this color on I feel like I'm putting chocolate on my lips. I believe that it is currently discontinued, so I think the only place you can find it is where I stated above and Amazon :(

I randomly found this at the MAC store in Union Station and fell in love. It is basically a sheer red.  It reminds me of a "my lips but better" shade.  Love it!!

Again,
these are currently the lipsticks that stay on me at all times within the make up bag I keep in my purse.

Let me know what lipsticks you currently keep in your purse or what your favorites are during the this current winter season.

Thanks for reading!!!

Courtney ;)

Lipstick Review: Maybelline - Untainted Spice

Maybelline New York Color Sensational The Buffs Lip Color, Untainted Spice
Maybelline - Untainted Spice , $8.29 at CVS

This is a great drug store brand, neutral shade for darker skin shades. It is also a nice shade for lighter skin shades (I just don't think it would be considered neutral then).  I love wearing this shade to work because it appears very neutral and dramatic at the same time (if you know what I mean).

I was put on to this shade by the GlamTwinz334 (https://www.youtube.com/user/glamtwinz334). I love them.

Let me know what you think.

Here is how it looks on me:

Photo

I paired it with the Mary Kay Lip Liner in Cinnamon:

Mary Kay Lip Liner in Cinnamon, $5.75 on Amazon

I provided a link, because those that have known me for a while know that I used to sell Mary Kay a while back (which is why you see the older packaging pictured. It now has a black outer casing).  I may get back into selling.

Any way, let me know what you think and if you have any drug store neutral shades that you love and would like to share.

Also, let me know if you think that $8.29 is too much for the drug store lipstick?

Thank You!

XOXO

Courtney Palmer :)
